The New York Islanders got a break from the ice on Thursday, so they decided to stop by several hospitals across Long Island to spread holiday cheer.

Out of the eight hospitals visited, West Islip’s Good Samaritan Hospital and Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, were the two hospitals in GreaterLongIsland’s coverage area.

At each location, several Islander players greeted patients, signed autographs, took photos, and gave away presents to children.

Forwards Anthony Beauvillier and Tom Kuhnhackl visited Stony Brook, while goaltender Robin Lehner and defensemen Valtteri Filppula and Ryan Pulock stopped by Good Sam.

“It is a great opportunity for us to be able to come out here and brighten the kids day,” Pulok told GreaterBabylon. “We hope to put a smile on their face and help them get through tough times.”
