The Tanger Outlet Center in Deer Park made a big donation to help combat breast cancer locally.
At the annual tree lighting in November, Tanger’s officials cut a $43,800 check to the Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition, which is a non-profit based in Lindenhurst.
That donation was raised during the 25th annual Tanger PINK Campaign, which was a sales promotion that ran at the outlets through the month of October.
There are over 100 brand name and designer outlet stores in the Tanger Outlet Center of Deer Park.
Over the last 25 years, Tanger Outlet Center–which has 22 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada– has raised $17 million for breast cancer research through its PINK Campaign, as well as its 5k races and other event fundraisers.
“We are proud to join forces with our valued shoppers and retailers across the U.S. and Canada to raise awareness and much-needed funds for breast cancer research and prevention,” said Steven B. Tanger, president and chief executive officer of Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc. “We empathize with every customer, retailer, an employee who has been affected by this disease.
“We are fully committed to supporting these important organizations, with the goal of finding a cure to a disease that has affected so many families.”
