Murphy’s Sports Shack is enjoying its new digs in Deer Park.

“It has been great here so far,” said owner John Murphy, who moved his local sporting goods store from Babylon Village last November. “More parking, less congestion, but we do miss the village.”

After operating in the village for 30-plus years, John and his co-owners, who are also his brothers, moved north.

They sold the mix-use building from which they operated the prominent store on Deer Park Avenue.

According to a report, the Murphys—brothers John Murphy, Kevin Murphy, and Dennis Murphy—sold the building which also houses Game Hut Video Games to a real estate investor for $2.3 million.

After the sale last May, the team searched in the nearby area for a suitable location, until they found 94 B Jeffryn Boulevard in Deer Park.

“We have a small retail storefront, a team meeting room, and a large warehouse in the back,” explained John. “It was everything we were looking for.”

The new space, which is in an industrial park, is near the Tanger Outlets of Deer Park.

Murphy’s Sports Shack specializes in creating uniforms and accessories for leagues and individuals across Long Island.  To learn more about them, call the store at 631-669-9836.
