The Brixton‘s popular chef and co-owner Phil Pasfield was loved by many.
That was shown by the outpouring of support after it became known the 34-year-old died unexpectedly. The cause of death was not immediately released.
“I lost my best friend yesterday,” said Pasfield’s wife, Katie. “Phil was truly the best person on this Earth. He took care of me better than anyone else and was truly the greatest husband someone could ever have.”
Following his death, people close to the Sayville native set up a Go Fund Me fundraiser to offset some of the funeral and memorial costs.
“Phil was an amazing husband, friend, brother, son, chef and so much more to each and every one of us,” wrote the page’s organizer.
The Brixton’s sister restaurant Public House 49 in Patchogue, where Pasfield used to work, took to social media to describe Pasfield.
“People not only fell in love with his cooking but fell in love with his personality and heart,” the post said. “We hope that the beautiful memories shared with him will provide comfort to everyone who knew and loved him.”
