Ooh La La Boutiques is picking up where it left off with its popular Runway for a Cause—a fundraiser that raises money and awareness for breast cancer.

After not running the outing last year, Ooh La La’s owner, Jennifer Montiglio, is excited for the seventh-ever event, planned for Babylon Town’s Overlook Beach on Friday, June 21.

“We really try and unite to make a difference on a communal level,” said Montiglio, whose employees volunteer over 10 hours the day-of.

The main attraction of Runway for a Cause— which runs from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.—is its fashion show held over 120 feet of runway. This year’s event will include 26 breast cancer survivors, the most in the fundraiser’s history.

“It starts off with really high fashion with a resort beach theme,” explained Montiglio.  “Then it goes into survivor to ‘Girl Power,’ a celebration of summer and everything that’s good coming up.”

In addition to the show, there will be DJ-spun music, raffles, vendors, and unlimited food and drinks.  Montiglio points out many local businesses donated to the event, such as the owners of Torta Fina Bake Shoppe, who will set up a dessert bar, and The Makeup Studio, which will be styling the models.

Tickets are $75 and are available at any of Ooh La La’s five locations: Babylon, Sayville, Ocean Beach, Long Beach or Huntington.  And, since it’s a public beach, space is not limited and people are free to pay at the door, says the event organizer.

The day’s proceeds will benefit the Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition and Got Checked? of Hicksville.

Ooh La La’s goal is to break the mark set in 2017 of $42,000.
