Inclement weather isn’t going to stop three Babylon Block Parties from happening this year.

After the first date of the summer was cancelled due to rain, the event organizers went hard to work to secure a new, third date, as well as a rain date.

And they were successful.

The Babylon Chamber of Commerce, which runs the street festival, told GreaterBabylon the village approved the festival for Aug. 15, as well as a rain date of Sept. 12.

“We are very grateful to the mayor and village board of trustees for their support of the business district and the chamber, and we are excited to be able to still carry out three Block Parties this summer,” said Kelly Peckholdt, head of the Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce.

The Babylon Block Party’s other dates include July 18 and Aug. 29, all of which are Thursdays.

The event, which go from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., features outdoor dining, live music, vendors, bouncy houses, and food trucks in the downtown area.
