With the holidays around the corner, GreaterBabylon rounded up what is in store at Babylon Village’s Nathaniel Conklin House this wintery season.

Conklin House Annual Cookie Contest

On Dec. 5, the historic property at 280 Deer Park Avenue will be hosting its annual cookie contest.

The free-to-enter competition will have five age groups with prizes going to a winner of each. The groups are: Buddy and Me (fourth grade and under), fifth-sixth grades, seventh-ninth grades, 10th-12th grades, and adults (18 and older).

A secret ingredient will be announced on Nov. 30. The judges will grade for creativity and taste. The winners will be announced on Dec. 6.

Christmas at the Conklin House

The Conklin House will open its doors on Friday, Dec. 6, for a Christmas celebration.

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the community can visit the house for free hot cocoa and cookies. There will also be live music playing on the porch.

Al Ruggieri, a local artist, will be featuring his holiday cards at the Conklin House’s country store.
