The community pools and spray parks in the Town of Babylon will be closed for the entire summer.

Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer made the announcement on Tuesday that Babylon will close these public facilities due to the spread of the novel coronavirus.

While the pools and spray parks will be shuttered, the town beaches began reopening Memorial Day weekend. The town is offering discounted beach permits this year, click here to learn more.

“This summer is obviously going to be different than others, but we are doing what we can to preserve as much of a normal summer as we can,” said Schaffer. “I encourage our residents to visit our celebrated beaches,
provided that you follow the necessary rules and use common sense, and also stay tuned for other things our parks team has planned for the next few months.”
