Helping to decorate Babylon Village in patriotic colors for the Fourth of July while honoring Covid-19 heroes.
Through this campaign, the nonprofit aims to decorate the 500 lamposts in the downtown with 12×8 inch American flags with nametags showing appreciation for those working the frontlines during the pandemic.
“Honor a friend, nurse, first responder, essential worker, parent, veteran, co-worker, or anyone that has helped you survive during these last few months,” said the club’s president, Jim Kanzler. “Honor as many people as you want!”
It’s $20 per donation. All of the flags will be displayed throughout the village the entire Fourth of July weekend.
After the event, the flags and tags will be given back to the benefactor as a souvenir.
The funds raised will be reinvested into the community in projects such as purchasing food for nearby soup kitchens, supporting the Arbor Day tree program, scholarships, and more.
