Update: The Falcons waived Jake Carlock on Monday, Nov. 23.
Jake Carlock is now a Dirty Bird.
The Babylon native signed with the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday after the team placed WR Laquon Treadwell on its reserve/COVID-19 list.
He will be a member of the team’s practice squad.
Carlock, who had spent time at long snapper and linebacker with the New York Giants in 2019, confirmed to GreaterBabylon he will be playing linebacker in Atlanta.
His first official day is tomorrow.
“Hard work pays off,” the Long Islander wrote on his Instagram story following the signing.
The Long Island University product began his NFL career in New York after the Giants signed the undrafted free agent following the 2019 NFL Draft. His best day as a Giant came in a pre-season game against the Jets when he scored a dazzling defensive touchdown.

Carlock was later cut by the Giants and spent some time with the Miami Dolphins before receiving this opportunity.
