Today’s inclement weather has led to the postponement of Babylon Village’s Santa car parade.

The event, sponsored by the Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce, will now happen on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 5 p.m.

The parade route will remain the same.

Santa is still coming to town.

The jolly old red man will be leading a Santa Claus car parade through Babylon Village this Friday.

Sitting on a float — and safely distant from everybody — Kris Kringle will be waving to the crowd during the motorcade.

The Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce, which is sponsoring this event, said St. Nick will be bringing special guests to join him on his travels.

The parade starts at 5:30 p.m. on Deer Park Avenue and will travel north from Main Street to George Street.

This takes place during the village’s annual Old Fashioned Christmas Night of Shopping, where local businesses will be offering discounts and promotions throughout the night.

As usual, metered parking will be available in municipal lots in the village.

There’s also free two-hour parking in red-covered meters on Main Street, Deer Park Avenue and other nearby roads.
