Babylon Village is once again a Winter Wonderland.
That’s because over 1,000 community members participated in the Babylon Beautification Society’s annual Holiday Lamppost Decoration.
On Sunday, Nov. 29, the volunteers bundled up to adorn over 500 street lights throughout the village with pine garland, lights, and red bows.
Each family brought their own ladder and supplies were provided by the Beautification Society.
“It’s one of my favorite events of the year,” said Frank Petruzzo, head of the BBS. “It’s not only about ushering in the holidays, but it’s about community and volunteerism.”
Petruzzo also gave acknowledgment to village officials for their support in this yearly outing.
“We would like to thank all who have made this happen and acknowledge the enormous support we get from Mayor Mary Adams, Trustee Robyn Silvestri and the hardworking crews at the Village of Babylon who keep the lights working properly,” he said.
